Hong Kong Adventist Hospital Foundation Charity Program
Hong Kong Adventist Hospital Foundation Charity Program

Hong Kong Adventist Hospital Foundation (HKAHF) recently allocated three million Hong Kong dollars to launch the first charitable assistance program in Hong Kong for children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in private medical institutions. To benefit more patients, the program will expand to include children with brain development disorders and all children with special educational needs, providing them with comprehensive and integrated care.

HKAHF Charity Assistance Program is to provide funding for children from kindergarten (K3) to Form 1 who are suspected of having attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, autism spectrum disorder, or similar comorbid conditions, and are currently on the waiting list for the public hospital's child and adolescent psychiatric outpatient clinic. The program offers comprehensive clinical assessment services, including diagnostic evaluations by psychiatric specialists, medication and non-medication treatments. It also provides appropriate individual or group therapy plans and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, including clinical psychologists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists, to offer timely referrals as needed.

Applicants must be Hong Kong residents, hold a waiting list appointment slip for the public hospital's psychiatric outpatient clinic with a waiting time of more than nine months, and meet the financial assessment criteria. Successful applicants will receive treatment at designated Adventist Medical Centers. Only administrative fees will be charged for each session of psychiatric services. In the case of emergencies, upon referral and qualification assessment by the school principal, an appointment for treatment services can be scheduled within one to two weeks. Non-emergency cases can be scheduled within two to three weeks, significantly reducing waiting time for patients and allowing the medical team to provide timely support through early intervention. For more information about the program,
please contact Ms. Chan at 2837 2080.
